Pittsburgh Foundry and Machine Company (PFMCo.) began as the vision of a hardworking 20 year-old named William A. Smith back in 1901. Today, his grand- and great-grandchildren still work in Lawrenceville in the heart of Pittsburgh.
Over the years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to becoming the premier manufacturer and source for ferrous and nonferrous castings, including gray iron, ductile iron, NiHard, white iron and high chrome iron, as well as steel, stainless steel, bronze, brass, copper and aluminum.
We recently merged with West Salisbury Foundry , so you now have access to their resources and 136 additional years of high quality casting manufacturing.
We Concentrate on Quality
We wouldn’t be here after 100 plus years if we didn’t. We’ll oversee everything from the pattern to the machined final product, so that you receive your castings made to spec and built to last. From start to finish, we ensure that each step is done right.
We’re equipped to handle any sized job, whether it’s a one-off or a run of thousands. We can also make any size casting, from one to 40,000 pounds—or more. Since each casting is different, we give it the attention it deserves.
We Believe in Good Service
Excellent service makes doing business worthwhile, and it sure makes it easy to work with us. To ensure a smooth manufacturing process, we’ll reach out to you with timely progress reports, we’ll proactively combat potential issues before they occur and we’ll follow-up to make sure that the castings exceed your expectations.
Additionally, our strong, long-term relationships with other foundries and vendors enable us to partner with the ones that best suit your specific project and ultimately help you cut costs.
We’re Here to Help
We’ll provide castability advice upfront and also find ways to help you make the job more cost-effective. Whether you’d like design assistance or you already have drawings in hand, we can help create the casting/s you need.
